The Story

Nekosaan Ceramics was started around 2015 when I, Alisia Lundie, decided to find a ceramic studio and finally set out what I had been wanting to do for over 10 years; become a working artist. I had to find a studio and was blessed to stumble upon Merritt Ceramics in Oakland, CA. At Merritt Ceramics I found a community of like minded, diverse artists, who’s support has been crucial in cultivating my business. With a studio and ideas already in mind I started to create.

My background had mostly been in non functional sculptural art, but I wanted to create pieces people can both use and admire.  I try to find the line between functionality and art, with both usefulness and aesthetics valued. Each piece is created to not only for use, but as a sensory experience to be enjoyed over and over.
